When a bedroom is not a bedroom

Sometimes what an agent or landlord advertises as a bedroom, is really just an alcove where you can place your bed, or a cupboard in disguise.   This property was advertised as a one bedroom property but there were no doors into the 'bedroom' and no windows - just a curtain separating it from the end of the bedroom and the entrance to the apartment.

A bedroom should only be advertised as a bedroom when the ceilings are a minimum of 2.4 metres in height, have the ability of natural air exchanges such as a window (not just a door), it requires natural light to enter the room and certainly requires an entrance door to be classified as a bedroom.  Don't be caught in the trap of paying premium rent for a 1 bedroom property when it really should be classified as a 'studio' with the rent adjusted accordingly.
